Why it is called the ReacTore? The ReacTore is our newest scrummage trainer. We call it the ReacTore because of the core strength required to control the vertical movement of the trainer. Just like a real scrum. We achieved this by suspending the mass on a balanced suspension system, which is sitting on an air spring that reacts like a exercise ball in the gym. The pads are attached to this floating platform. The harder a pack engages the more the ReacTore will compress, forcing the scrum to control the vertical movement rather than just leaning into it. If you lift up it will just do that, but the ReacTore will not move. If you hit and hang on the pads, it will compress lower than the pack. Still no movement will occur, but if the scrum has a tight core and there is tension throughout, the forward energy is transferred, achieving movement. The ReacTore is very portable even when fully loaded.

Power Pack Option The Power Pack allows an onboard compressor to help raise and lower the ReacTore at a flick of a switch. Also in power training mode the ReacTore will push back on engagement. This creates realism in training. Advantage: It is a proven fact that when muscles are overloaded and they enter eccentric contraction that maximun strength gains are achieved. The Power Pack offers this type of training. Building strength and not allowing muscles to relax while in the scrum cycle.
