Training with Scrum OS
|

Snap Shove -- Synchronize your scrum's push and see
if it can maintain stability under a pulse of pressure.
|

Strength Training -- Use timed routines to improve
pack strength and focus. Determine your strongest combinations.
|
|
Power Driving -- Teach your pack
to move forward and control the wheel on own ball and measure the push while doing
so.
|
|
Individual Use -- Allow players
to practise on their own. Useful for rehabilitation and muscle building programs.
|
|
Manual -- Use a stable platform
to introduce proper body positioning. Apply pressure once proper body positions are
maintained. See how much your scrum can push.
|
Moving -- Easily moves on and
off the pitch enabling you to run set plays involving the full XV.

Advantages of Coaching with Scrum
OSTM
- Simplicity of use
- Audible tones indicate achievements
- Active steering allows dynamic wheeling
- Sensitive braking permits accurate control of motion
- Automatically resets for consecutive engagements
- Operator or pack initiated routines
- Sports-specific isometric exercises can be tailored to represent any opposition
- Determine best combinations for forward pressure
- Improve pack's body alignment, foot positions and pushing angles
- Work rate and effort accurately measured and recorded
- Track individual and pack scrummaging improvement (post results to motivate your
players)
Operating Features
Adjustable Pressure |
| |
The operator can select a pressure level (from 100 kg to 1000 kg) appropriate for
the pack using the machine. Packs of greatly varying abilities, experience, and strength
can use the machine during the same session with no time lost to resetting levels.
In addition, the pressures can be different on the loose and tight head sides during
the same scrummage. |
| Passive Engagement |
| |
Pressures are selected and manually applied by the operator. Pressure switches off
automatically (or by the operator) if the scrummagers are unable to hold it. |
| Active Engagement |
| |
Pre-selected pressure is automatically applied upon the hit. Pressure is withdrawn
automatically if scrummagers are unable to hold it or at the end of a timed cycle. |
| Auto Tracking |
| |
The steering can be set to make the machine track in a straight line, to the right,
or to the left. |
| Braking |
| |
There are three distinct aspect of the ABS. Each will detect varying scrum pressures
and respond by providing the appropriate braking force.
The braking systems are:
- The Safety Catch Brake prevents the machine from moving upon impact.
- Manual Braking allows brakes to be set to allow as much or as little movement
as desired.
- Speed Control Braking automatically controls the scrumÂ’s speed of movement
-- to a safe walking/driving pace. Speed control braking ensures that the ScrumMaster™
will never "run away".
|
| Brakes Off |
| |
This feature allows free movement and is only present in moving mode. |
Statistics
ScrumMaster has developed a hydraulic gauge system that can provide instant statistical
feedback. A maintenance free, combination air pressure and hydraulic system gives
coaches and players accurate information from which to measure improvement, identify
weaknesses and make adjustments. Scrummaging without statistics is like weight training
without knowing what you are lifting! This is a powerful motivational tool, and has
proved to be one of the most popular features of the ScrumMaster.
